(Pic of Madilyn.. babyA)(It's a picture of her face)
Hey there, WHOEVER reads this lol... went to the doctor today for my 20 week appt... it wasn't the regular 20 week appt though because im going to the specialist next week on July 1st. Soooo, this appt was short and sweet , we just looked at the girls , their heartbeats and took a few pics. The doc said all was good with the girls and he would see me in 3 weeks this time since im goin to the other doc next week. Also, i gained 3 lbs since last appt 2 weeks ago! It definately went to my stomach again because i got my first stretch marks on my belly (Cries). it's not that bad now.. i'm sad just thinking about how bad it will probably get towards the end!! Or in the next few weeks even!! Oh well, this is what i get for making babies and thinking i was only gonna get one! lol Well, i'm excited for my specialist appt next week because we get to have a long sonogram with lots of measurements and all that and we will also see how much they weigh again. I'm guessing they will be weighing a pound each by then! Well, i took a video of this weeks sonogram, not sure if i can upload videos here, but i'll try!

Untill next time: Hopefully i'll have a lot of news next week after the specialist appt! :)

20 weeks preggo! Half way there, well.. more than half way since they are comin early

At 20 weeks hair on the scalp is sprouting and sensory development evolves rapidly. The nerve cells serving each of the senses - taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch - are now developing in their specialised areas of the brain. Nerve cell production slows down as existing nerve cells grow larger and make more complex connections. The smell of a newborn seems to be the most developed of all senses, enabling them to recognize you immediately.

You no doubt feel the kicking and somersaulting of your growing twins. At times, they may be so mobile that they will wake you up during the night. The next ten weeks or so will be your twins' busiest and most active time, until the uterus gets too crowded.

A whitish coat of a slick, fatty substance called vernix caseosa will begin to cover your twins. It protects their skin during its long immersion in amniotic fluid and acts as a barrier against infection after birth. Your twins are swallowing an increasing amount of amniotic fluid, good practice for their digestive systems.

Until now your fetuses have been measured from crown to rump but from 20 weeks the measurement will be from crown to heel. And from crown to heel they are approximately 10.5 inches/ 27 centimetres long. Their eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed and fingernails cover the fingertips.

Your babies can now hear your conversations. If you talk, read, or sing to your twins, sound waves are transmitted along your spine to make them progressively familiar to your voice, helping them to recognise you after they are born.
Your twins can hear other sounds through the skin covering your belly, but they are distorted as they pass through your fat and muscle, the wall of your uterus and amniotic fluid. Only your voice will be clearly recognisable to them by the end of your pregnancy.

Most mums-to-be detect their twins movements (called quickening) between 18 and 22 weeks of pregnancy. If you've been pregnant before, you'll feel things earlier rather than later. What you may first think is a rumbling stomach may be your twins doing some back flips.

19 weeks preggo with twins

This is a period of tremendous growth for your babies. they are also growing muscle and are getting stronger every day. As your babies becomes stronger, they will move about more energetically, particularly when you are trying to get some sleep! Their teeth are already beginning to form within their jawbones. They may have some hair on their heads, including eyebrows and eyelashes. Your babies fingernails have grown to the tips of the fingers and they can clench their fists.

The internal organs are maturing. Fat is now being stored beneath their skin. The blood cells take over for the liver the job of producing blood. The gall bladder will become functional, producing bile that is necessary for digestion.
Your babies sleep and wake at regular intervals. You will find that your girls are much more active now. They turn from side to side and head over heels. They may suck their thumbs. Exploring the structures inside your uterus may become their prime entertainment.

Babies are measured from the crown (or top) of the head to the rump (or bottom) until about 20 weeks. After that, they are measured from head to heel. They are now about 7 inches (17 cm) Crown to Rump, about 10 inches (25 cm) from head to heel each.

Babies weighs roughly 11 ounces each(about 300 grams).

Mother

You are getting bigger every day, and during the fifth month you should start to feel your baby's movements, which begin as light, fluttery sensations. Your skin might darken and stretch marks may appear on your abdomen or breasts. Your breasts may begin to produce colostrum. Your gums might bleed and you may have a congested nose.

well, i already feel the girls moving since there are two of them! and i definately already look pregnant! :) Only a few stretch marks, but for the most part all of the weight has gone STRAIGHT to the belly area!  They are poking and proding me more everyday and they cant wait till their daddy gets here in two weeks to talk to them!!!! Also, they are very ready to make me miserable while camping in a few weeks! i hope my swimsuit still fits by then!!! YIKES.. ILY baby girls!

18 weeks pregnant with the girls!

The girls are kicking up a storm today!!!
YAY 18 weeks! im 5 months preggo!

We have two more ounces! Your "getting bigger-n-better by the minute baby" is already up to 7 ounces and 6 inches! This is a big week for their baby skin. There are now two distinct layers—the epidermis (or the surface skin) and dermis. Currently, their skin is covered with a greasy, waxy, cheese-like substance, known as vernix caseosa. Sure, it sounds pretty nasty, but this mixture of fatty secretions covering your little swimmer from head to toe is the best way to protect their oh-so-thin skin from bruising and abrasions as well as chapping caused by amniotic fluid exposure (and your little one is swimming in that stuff!). Still don’t like the fact your little darling is currently slathered in fatty cream like a greased pig? Well, you know the birthing process? Where you have to push something the size of a watermelon out a hole the size of a grape? That adorable little greased piglet would have a lot harder time getting through the birth canal without the vernix caseosa. Fun fact for momma’s with baby girls: it’s a uterus within a uterus! Your little girl will have developed a uterus and vagina canal by the end of this week.

WEEK 17-These babies are gettin heavy.

fetus in fourth month: Don't be too shocked but... your baby is EVEN bigger than it was last week, not to mention getting cuter, and smarter every day! As you’ve come to expect, there’s no shortage of growth and development this week: your fantastic little bean stalk has added yet another half inch to their overall height-- making them nearly half a foot long! Their little limbs have reached (or are within one week of) their relative proportions, and will continue to grow evenly with the rest of the body after this week. Reactive listening has begun for your baby, even though their ears are not yet structurally complete or fully functional. Meanwhile, different parts of their astonishingly complex brain are developing to process your little one’s hearing and other senses, (you know, sight, smell, taste and touch). Mind boggling factoid of the week: if you’re having going to have a little girl, her ovaries have already produced millions of primordial egg cells, which, within a few weeks, will develop into actual eggs! Phew… just wait till she’s a teenager eh?

the babies are kickin alot today!! they are gettin heavy !!
